The new PlayStation 4 Vue exploit now makes it possible to jailbreak PS4 consoles running firmware 12.50, 12.52, and 13.00, allowing users to run homebrew applications, custom payloads, and HEN tools on previously unsupported firmware versions.

If your console is running 12.02 or lower, the older BD-JB (Blu-ray Disc Jailbreak) method is still considered more stable by scene developers. However, if your system is on 12.50, 12.52, or 13.00, this Vue exploit is currently the recommended public method.

Already running an older jailbreak? You can manually upgrade to this method without backing up your console again. First-time users will need to complete the full setup shown below.

Important: According to developers, this method is not yet as stable as firmware 12.02 or lower, so failed attempts, retries, or occasional kernel crashes are normal.

This guide covers both:

• First-time jailbreak users
• Existing jailbreak users upgrading from an older setup

Method 1: First-Time Jailbreak Users

If this is your first time jailbreaking your PlayStation 4, follow every step below carefully.

Step 1: Back Up Your PS4

Before modifying anything, create a full system backup.

What you need:

• A large USB drive
• Format: exFAT or FAT32

Backup steps:

1. Plug the USB drive into your PS4
2. Go to:

Settings → System → Back Up and Restore

3. Select:

Back Up PS4

4. Select Yes
5. Check Back Up Everything
   (Applications, save data, captures, themes, and settings)
6. Press X to start the backup

Once the backup is complete, your current data can be restored at any time.

Step 2: Prepare the USB on Your PC

Once the backup finishes:

1. Remove the USB drive
2. Connect it to your PC
3. You will see a PS4 folder on the USB
4. Copy this folder somewhere safe on your PC
5. Delete the PS4 folder from the USB root

Now:

6. Open VueSystemBackup
7. Copy its PS4 folder to the USB root
8. Copy your payload file:

• HEN.bin (recommended for 13.00)
  or
• GoldHEN.bin (older supported firmware)

9. Rename the payload file to:

payload.bin

Step 3: Restore the Vue Backup

Reconnect the USB to your PS4.

Go to:

Settings → System → Back Up and Restore

Then:

1. Select Restore PS4
2. Choose:

Vue After Free 1.2 by Vue Team

3. Press Next
4. Press Restore
5. Select Yes to restart

Once the restore process finishes, you will see the PlayStation Vue app on your home screen.

Step 4: Connect to the Internet Safely

Before launching the exploit:

Go to:

1. Settings → Network
2. Enable internet and use this DNS: Primary DNS: 62.210.38.117
3. Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

This blocks PS4 system updates while keeping exploit access available.

Step 5: Run the Vue Exploit

1. Open the PlayStation Vue app
2. It may ask you to sign in to PSN
3. Press X to continue
4. Open the Jailbreak menu
5. Select Jailbreak

The app will automatically detect your firmware.

Step 6: Wait for Success Messages

You may see a Failed message first. This is normal. Do not close the app.

Wait until you see:

“The Vue-After-Free Team congratulates you. NetCtrl Finished OK. Enjoy Freedom.”

Then:

• USB payload found
• Copying to /data folder
• GoldHEN / HEN Loaded

Your jailbreak is now complete.

Method 2: Existing Jailbreak Users (Upgrade Method)

Already jailbroken before? You do not need to back up or restore again. Simply upgrade manually.

Step 1: Install the Apps

Using Package Installer, install:

• PlayStation Vue
• Apollo Save Tool
• Vue Update v1.24

Step 2: Activate Apollo

1. Open Apollo Save Tool.
2. Go to: User Tools → Activate PS4 Account
3. Make sure your Account ID is not all zeros.
4. Go to: USB Saves → Application Data → Copy Save Game to HDD
5. Press OK.

Step 3: Enable FTP

1. Inside GoldHEN:
2. Go to: Server Settings
3. Enable: FTP Server
4. Your PS4 IP address will appear.

Step 4: Transfer Exploit File

1. On your PC, open FileZilla.
2. Connect using: Host: Your PS4 IP, Port: 2121
3. Then navigate to: /user/download/CUSA00960/ (If the folder does not exist, create it.)
4. Copy: download0.dat to this folder.

Step 5: Run Vue

1. Open the Vue app.
2. Press: X Jailbreak
3. Wait for: NetCtrl Finished OK → Payload Loaded

Jailbreak complete.

Recommended Vue Settings

For 12.50 / 12.52 / 13.00: Inside the Vue app

Set:

• Auto PoOP ✓
• Auto Close ✓
• JB Behaviour → NetControl

For 12.02 or Lower

Set:

• Auto Lapse ✓
• Auto Close ✓
• JB Behaviour → Lapse

Important Firmware Note

If you are on 13.00, use:

HEN.bin

If you are on older supported firmware, you can use:

GoldHEN

This tutorial uses firmware 13.00, so HEN.bin is recommended.

After Installation (Recommended Protection)

Once the PlayStation 4 Vue exploit is working, it is strongly recommended to back up your Vue save data for future protection.

This version of PlayStation Vue uses encrypted save data. If your save data ever becomes corrupted and the Vue app stops loading, this backup will allow you to restore it without repeating the full setup process.

Back Up PlayStation Vue Save Data

Follow these steps:

1. Plug your USB drive into your PS4.
2. Go to: Settings → Application Saved Data Management
3. Select: Saved Data in System Storage
4. Select: Copy to USB Storage Device
5. Select the PlayStation Vue application data.
6. Press Copy

Your Vue save data is now safely backed up on your USB drive.

Optional Fix – Remove “Sign in to PlayStation Network” Message

If the Vue app keeps showing the “Sign in to PlayStation Network” message, you can remove it using the fake sign-in payload.

What you need:

• NetCat GUI
• np-fake-signin-ps4.elf

1. On your PS4 Vue Menu Screen open Payload Menu
2. Step 2: Select: Elfldr.elf
3. Your PS4 will display: IP Address & Port Number
4. On your PC, open NetCat GUI.
5. Enter: PS4 IP Address & Port: 9021
6. Drag and drop:
7. np-fake-signin-ps4.elf or manually select the file.
8. Click: Inject Payload

If successful, you will see:

Signed in! Reboot to apply.

Restart your PlayStation 4

The PlayStation Network sign-in message should now be removed.
